on video original drums??
Thanks to Pat, Mike, Charlie and Karsten for this, and a big thanks to Bob Terry as well.
it should sound better/and it has the audio from the Gemini twin's that played b4 Jimi, plus it has more in between talk between tracks, sometimes you gotta listen to it 3 times b4 all the "beauty" sink's in
outta sight, really outta sight!!
I am eternally grateful for the work and passion that went into performing, capturing, and mixing this historic show. Thank you CT!!!
bit more volume on this one Charlie (zombywoof), he's gonna need it!
Thank you for all of you usual suspects!
tape sound great, great to hear Lover man complete. fantastic job,
best sounding version ever.. i agree with Karsten list of drums dubbed and no dubbed...
funny to hear two mitch at once! :-)
Wow, that sounds great. What's most interesting is that an audience recording seems to be used, which contains lover man, the in between chatter before voodoo child, the complete intro of hey baby. The last song is already circulating as an audience recording. I guess Bob Terry also has the complete audience recording.
One of my top 5 shows since first seeing Rainbow Bridge at the Nottingham Elite in it's dying days AFTER the cheap soft porn flick period. The Elite was THE Nottingham cinema in the 30s and it was great to see RB there in a huge autidorium. I taped it on my Sony reel to reel but sadly lent the tapes out years later........
So whatever happened to the Gemini Twins? Or perhaps more important, whatever happened to Barry De Prendergast, "producer" of "Rainbow Bridge" who has no other IMDB credits and seems to have no other presence on Google. Years ago a friend of mine found some filmcans in the trash at a Hollywood photo lab. They turned out to be Rainbow Bridge outtakes. But before you get too excited - there was very little Hendrix in the cans, and no concert footage. As I recall there were some shots of Jimi on horseback and some of the interview with Chuck Wein It was hard to tell how much of if it was really "outtakes" not used in the film because it was 35mm striped with sound and we had no way of listening to the sound. We just ran the film through a crude "Moviola" editing board to watch it. My friend is a packrat and he does still have the cans somewhere, but the last time we searched his garage we didnt' find them. That doesn't mean much though, he has mountains of crap we still haven't searched through. As I recall there was a whole trunk full of cans. I also seem to recall that some of the film was black and white. Never did understand the reason for that. It would have been the mid 70's when he found the cans.
Anyway, all that to say this - maybe "Barry De Prendergast" knows where the missing concert footage is?
Excellent quality, love these Bob Terry tapes. Thank you!
Thanks a lot guys for getting this together, sounds excellent !!!! The definitive version so far.
And ".........He is good, but he ain't no Hendrix" Great Quote !!!!!!!!
all the best,
